Action for Human Rights

Action for Human Rights is a student organization that brings together students and faculty to promote awareness of domestic and international human rights issues and their legal implications. AHR's main goal is to encourage the American University Washington College of Law community to learn about different human rights issues and to take action. This year we will be doing volunteer work in D.C. throughout the year in addition to volunteering during our winter and spring breaks.

Working at the Department of Justice at the Navajo Nation

Today at Navajo Nation, we worked hard at our placements and then had a picnic during lunch with our supervisors under the bright blue sky, next to Window Rock. At DOJ, our work is diverse and interesting, including policy development, gaming issue abatement, and tort/contract claims.

Pictured below is the front of my placement (along with three of our other group members) at the DOJ. Also, couldn't get enough of Window Rock, where we hiked yesterday and where our Navajo Nation supervisor picnic was held today.
